Workshop Description: Understanding Microaggressions and it's Impact on Clinical Practice

In our ever changing culture, practitioners must become proficient in many areas of difference. Microaggressions are actions that negatively target a marginalized group or individual. The concept of "Intent vs. Impact" is important, as many hurtful comments are made with the intentions of connecting with someone from a different culture, but the result can actually be hurtful.

This program will look at points of diversity, including microaggressions, and how clinicians can navigate the changing landscape to have successful outcomes in their practices and organizations.
