Understanding Mental Health

The Understanding Mental Health workshop will focus on understanding what mental health conditions are, including statistics, risk factors, and common mental health conditions. We will discuss what these conditions look and sound like, as well as available treatment options.

The Let's Talk: Parent 2 Parent series, presented by Janel Parker, LCSW, is specifically designed for parents and guardians who are caring for children with mental health conditions. Its primary goal is to reassure participants that they are not alone in their journey, while offering clear, accessible insights into common mental health diagnoses affecting children. Throughout the workshop series, participants will gain valuable strategies to address both external and internal stigma, explore effective and compassionate discipline approaches, and receive practical tips on how to navigate the complexities of the school system.
