3 contact hours are available to NYS LCATs, LMHCs, LMSWs/LCSWs, LMFTs
Through a blend of psychoeducation, case examples, and applied practice, participants will learn how I-CBT helps clients differentiate between reasonable doubt and obsessional doubt, reconnect with their senses, and break free from time-consuming reassurance and checking cycles. Clinicians will leave with a clearer framework for case conceptualization and practical tools they can confidently integrate into sessions.
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
• Identify the five logical-reasoning themes that contribute to obsessive thoughts.
• Explain the role of the Obsessional Story and its connection to the Vulnerable Self Theme.
• Differentiate between reasonable doubt and obsessional doubt.
• Implement Reality Sensing techniques to support clients in managing OCD symptoms.
• Evaluate the appropriateness of Inference-Based CBT when developing case conceptualizations.
