This session will equip you with knowledge and skills around gambling harms and how to identify and support people who experience harms, either there own or someone else's.
In the context of communities and services in Dundee and Tayside you will learn:
- Understand the gambling and the different types of gambling including how it relates to gaming
- Learn who can be affected by gambling harm and recognise common risk factors
- Explore the relationship between gambling harm and homelessness
- Consider how gambling harm can affect women
- Understand the influence of gambling advertising
- Recognise signs that someone may be experiencing gambling-related harm
- Learn about harm reduction, how to ask sensitively about gambling and respond supportively
- Feel more confident referring and signposting people to appropriate support
Following the session we will send slides and other useful resources.
It will be hosted in the Campervan room of the DDVA building.
