Session 1 - Understanding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Webinar
Wednesday, 31 May - 11.45 to 2.00 pm Creating a fair and diverse workplace culture – understanding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
1. How does equality, diversity and inclusion impact your business?
2. What are your legal responsibilities when growing a workforce?
3. Do you understand gender diversity and how to develop a more inclusive culture?
4. How do you tackle discrimination and prepare policies?
Equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is crucial to an organisation’s reputation and long-term success. Research has shown that creating a fair and diverse workplace has benefits for all, with businesses that do seeing improved outcomes on performance, innovation, decision-making and employee engagement.
But what does this really mean?
For example, what do you need to put in place to make sure you create a fair and equal workplace? Your business is growing, and you are excited to recruit your first employee or contract-out a piece of work – how do you make sure the recruitment process is fair and equal? How do you embed EDI into your business and how do you draft your equality, diversity and inclusion policies for internal and external audiences?
All of this will be covered in a four-part series of workshops tailored specifically for new and start-up businesses. Heena Mistry will deliver three of the workshops and Christopher Hulme will deliver Gender Identity Awareness.
Session 1: Introduction to EDI - Wednesday, 31 May - 11.45-2.00 pm
