About this Event
Chelmsford Garden Community Trust is hosting an evening of awareness raising and information sharing.
Are you affected by dementia? Do you support or provide care for a family member, friend or loved one living with dementia? Come and join us on Saturday October 19, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Beaulieu Community Centre to find out about dementia, the support and services available to you and your loved ones locally.
Did you know that there are over 676,000 people in England that are living with Dementia?!
A staggering number and something that most of us do not think about unless we actively know someone who is living with Dementia.
Dementia can affect cognitive function, memory, and behaviour and can make life challenging for the individual, as well as for loved ones and carers. Daily activities can become more difficult and it can be hard to maintain independence, which can impact on someone’s wellbeing.
Our event will cover a variety of topics specifically chosen following conversations with families and carers affected by dementia, who highlighted they wish they known more about the condition, the support and planning for future care and costs. If you would like to learn more, then come along, have a cuppa and find out a bit more.
We will have guest speakers from the Alzheimer's Society as well as talks and information from Home Instead, Age UK and Care UK.
This is a great opportunity to connect with others affected by dementia, chat over refreshments, learn together and support each other.
We look forward to seeing you there!
