How color choices communicate mood, energy, and brand identity
About this Event

Most photographers learn composition, exposure, and focus long before they learn color. Then they spend years pushing sliders in Lightroom without a framework for what they're reaching for. This class gives you that framework. We'll start with the fundamentals: the color wheel, hue, saturation, and luminance, and what actually happens when colors sit next to each other in a frame. From there we move into the relationships that do the heavy lifting in real photographs, including complementary, analogous, triadic, and monochromatic palettes, plus how warm and cool tones create depth and separation. The second half is applied. How to read color temperature on location and use white balance as a creative decision instead of a correction. How to scout and stage for color before you press the shutter. How to build a palette that holds together across an entire shoot rather than one strong frame. And how to make grading choices in post that support the image instead of fighting it. We'll also spend time on why color reads differently across screens and print, and what to do about it.
