This presentation by Anika Becker from the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force will provide an overview of hate‑motivated crimes and hate incidents, including how they are defined and how they differ. We will explore common indicators that a crime may have been motivated by bias or prejudice, and why reporting these events is essential for community safety and trust. Participants will learn how to recognize and report hate crimes and incidents, along with a snapshot of current Canadian and New Brunswick trends and statistics. The session is designed to increase awareness, support victims, and strengthen our collective response to hate in the community.
Please RSVP on Eventbrite so we know to expect you!
Accessibility: Our space is wheelchair accessible; however, the washrooms are not fully accessible (no grab bars, potentially not wide enough for large wheelchairs). There are two all gender washrooms available. Please contact Victor at [email protected] with your accessibility questions.
