The next Underground Incantation is on Sunday, October 20th from 11 am-1 pm, featuring the poets Victoria Oshun Hurtado and Sara Hovda! Come to Back to the Grind and bring your own poems (up to two pages) to read at the open mic after. Also, there will be optional time at the end for us to edit and submit poems together.
Victoria Oshun Hurtado is a Latina poet that holds an MFA degree in Creative Writing from UC Riverside. Victoria is Co-Founder of Art of Nothing Press, an unconventional California publication for art: writing and visual. They have published poetry ranging from zines to established publications such as About Place Journal/Black Earth Institute, EveryLibrary, and Bangalore Review. Victoria was awarded the Lucille Clifton Scholarship to attend Community of Writers in June 2024. They invite any and all artistic collaborations.
Sara Hovda is a transgender woman from rural Minnesota. She currently attends the MFA program at UC-Riverside while also working as an online entertainer. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in magazines such as Frontier Poetry, Nimrod, and Nashville Review, among others.
