A folk club night featuring five bands offering a wide variety of entertainment.FEATURING Max Van de Kamp (sings Tom Lehrer), Toukola Mogs, The Bold Articles, The Folk Boomers and Eva Väljaots & Robbie Sherratt
Max Van de Kamp sings satirical songs by the American mathematician and musician Tom Lehrer. Written largely in the 1950s and 60s, Lehrer’s songs’ funny political criticism remains relevant to today.
The Bold Articles play Celtic folk music with a feel for the ceol and craic. Band includes one real Irishman for free.
The Toukola Mogs are all former alleycats who have been aging softly and now sing about the trials and triumphs of life.
The Folk Boomers are a sixties-spirited folk band singing in English and Finnish, playing tonight as a trio.
Eva Väljaots & Robbie Sherratt (EST/ENG) write and perform music rooted in Estonian and English folklore. Their music, both modern and tradition-sensitive, combines the kannel, fiddle, and vocals in a colourful, rich and enchanting way.

The doors will open 30 minutes before the start. Please arrive in good time – the doors and buzzer will no longer be actively manned after the music has started and latecomers (after 7 pm) may have difficulty entering the premises.
