About this Event
Join us for a guided tour of our (Un)Defining Queer exhibition, now open until December 2023. This ground-breaking exhibition explores the Whitworth’s collection to examine how we can use a queer lens to define what the term ‘queer’ means.
Hosted by the Whitworth’s Visitor Team, these guided tours will give further insight into the artworks on display, which includes photography, drawings, wallpapers, print, video, mixed-media art and more.
The tour is open to 20 people at a time and is free to attend. Spaces are limited and must be pre-booked in advance. We will run a tour of (Un)Defining Queer every month between March and December 2023.
Presenting works that have never been on display before as well as loans, the exhibition includes artists such as: Ajamu X, Niki de Saint Phalle, General Idea, David Hockney, Maggie Hambling, Pearl Alcock, Keith Vaughan, Matthew Bamber, Sarah-Joy Ford, Wolfgang Tillmans, Chester Tenneson, and Jez Dolan.
All tour dates are as follows (later dates TBA):
Tuesday 7th March, 2pm
Friday 7th April, 2pm
Saturday 6th May, 2pm
