Oct 12th lineup

Ben P Williams - https://www.facebook.com/BenPWilliamsGuitar/

Ben P Williams is a Manchester-based singer-songwriter known for crafting songs with honesty in the middle and mischief around the edges. Since releasing his debut album Who Do You Think You Are? in 2015, he’s built a loyal following with his blend of folk, acoustic and soul influences, drawing comparisons to Paul Simon and Jack Johnson.

His music has been championed by BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing, while his live performances are praised for their warmth, humour and heartfelt delivery. With five albums under his belt, including his latest release Benthusiasm, Ben continues to tour the UK and beyond, winning over audiences one song at a time.

Lockerby & Ablewhite

Lockerby & Ablewhite are a folk-Americana duo from Leamington Spa.

Inspired by the likes of The Beatles and Crosby, Stills and Nash, their harmony-driven songs are presented in a style that is as upbeat as the material allows. With two guitars and pitch perfect singing, comparisons to Simon and Garfunkel, the Everly Brothers and other male duos are inevitable. However, L&A have their own unique sonic footprint which has meant they have gained an enthusiastic and steadily growing local audience.

With a current focus on recording and building their song catalogue, L&A are currently limiting gigs to one per month, so this is a rare opportunity to catch them live. Expect multiple capo changes and non-standard tunings, which combined with their lyrical stories, clever arrangements and standout playing bring truth to the old saying “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts“.

Linzi Jane Morgan - https://www.linzijanemorgan.com

Linzi Jane Morgan was born in the Midlands. Her journey has led to her creating her first body of solo songs, influenced by storytelling and poetry, melody driven she sings of love lost and found, heartbreak & hope.

Co forming her first band with friends, recording demos with Johnny Rivers, by 21 she had won a Nordhoff Robins award for emerging artist, then signed to Warner Chappell’s as a songwriter.

Linzi Jane co-produces with Paul Johnston (Rhythm Studios), BAFTA winning multi-instrumentalist & producer. Paul & Linzi Jane first worked together as teenagers & have come full circle to carefully explore the soundscape of each song written by Linzi on guitar. The beautiful playing of Marion Fleetwood (Feast of Fiddles, Sandy Denny Project) adds soaring strings & magic to the lush harmonies & acoustic soundscape. Together they have created an intimate heartfelt sound which reflects the thought & depth of these songs.

Whilst studying her Master’s degree, she threaded her song writing & visual works together to create a body of work; the award winning ‘Open Book’ which explored the cycle of grief & the nature of hope, through song, clay, video drawing & mixed media. This work has shown in art galleries alongside her sculptures, creating a musical landscape for her moving illustrations.

“Given the depth and maturity of the songs, musicianship and arrangements, Love & Other Stories sounds like it has been released by an established artist that’s been around for years.” Gerry McNally Folk and Tumble.
