Think you know the Irish pub? Think again.Join us for an immersive journey through our historic houses on Lemmon Street to explore the real flavors of Irish and Irish-American pub culture. This isn’t a lecture—it’s a hands-on look at the affordable staples and clever traditions that turned a survival diet into a global legacy.
Throughout the afternoon, you’ll step into the lived experience of our 19th-century community. You'll get your hands dirty with the secrets of the domestic hearth, discover the rhythmic pulse of a neighborhood "session," and put your senses to the test against the science of the distiller’s cut. We’re connecting the dots between the historic kitchen and the modern American restaurant, showing you exactly why these traditions remain staples today.
Once you have mastered the journey and uncovered the secret passcode, you will unlock access to our hidden backyard sanctuary. There, we will gather for a communal spread of the comforts that defined the Irish-American table—from bangers and mash and shepherd’s pie to creamy champ and the very handmade crackers you practiced making on the tour.
Even if you can’t join the tour, you can still support the museum by entering our raffle. We will be drawing for our exclusive "Brews & Bites" and "Whiskey Tasting" baskets at 2:00 PM in the backyard. If the winners aren't present at the time of the drawing, they will still be contacted to coordinate their prizes.
