A photography exhibition centering Black men in rest—soft, still, and unburdened. Come witness the beauty of simply being.
About this Event

Unburdened is a photography exhibition by Houston-based artist Jeremy Teel, exploring the beauty and necessity of rest for Black men.

This show invites viewers into a quiet, intimate space—one where Black men are seen not in motion, not performing, not pushing—but simply being. Through large-scale portraiture and prose, Unburdened creates room for softness, reflection, and release.

Event Photos

The exhibition features a collection of powerful images accompanied by written pieces that dive into themes of vulnerability, safety, identity, and the communal impact of rest.

Whether you stay for 10 minutes or two hours, the experience is designed to offer a pause—a moment to breathe and witness what we so rarely see: Black men at ease.

Light refreshments will be available, and prints will be on view (and for sale). Come as you are, bring a friend, and stay as long as you’d like.
