UNBROKEN x ORLANDO
Advertisement
August 30, 2026 | Mills Gallery | Orlando, Florida
In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day
UNBROKEN is a community portrait and storytelling project created to transform pain into purpose.
Inspired by the loss of my son, Gavyn, to accidental fentanyl poisoning in 2020, the project invites individuals and families impacted by overdose and to have the resilience to share their stories and remind others they are not alone.
This event is designed to be experienced in whatever way feels right for you.
Guests are welcome to simply walk through the gallery, view the portraits and stories, spend time in the community lounge, enjoy coffee and light refreshments, listen to music, and connect with others.
For those who wish to participate more deeply, there will also be an opportunity to share your story and be photographed, with me Anthony, as part of The UNBROKEN Project.
Many participants are parents and family members who have experienced the loss of a child or loved one, though anyone impacted by these issues is welcome to attend and connect.
The long-term vision for UNBROKEN extends far beyond the gallery walls. Portraits and stories collected throughout the project will help inform future public art installations and large-scale community murals designed to honor lives lost, celebrate recovery, inspire hope, and keep important conversations visible in our communities.
Whether you come to reflect, remember, connect, support someone you love, or contribute your own story, there is a place for you here.
Together, we honor those we've lost, support those still fighting, and create spaces where healing can begin through connection, conversation, and storytelling.
