OPENING NIGHTHealthy Rhythm Creative Group and Healthy Rhythm Art Gallery Present "UNBROKEN SPIRIT :: WESTERN COLORADO’S CAPTIVE MUSTANGS" • A Solo Photography Exhibition by Savannah Conley • Opening Night • Friday evening, October 15, 2021, at Healthy Rhythm Art Gallery • Doors open at 6:30 p.m. • Limited Edition Fine Art Metal Prints will be on display for viewing and purchase • Photographer, Savannah Conley, will be in attendance • Premiere screening, exhibition overview, and Q&A session will be part of the Opening Night festivities • Music and light refreshments will be provided • The exhibition runs from October 15 through December 18, 2021
LaNoue DuBois Winery will pour wines at Opening Night. Individuals must be 21+ years of age with a valid I.D. to consume alcohol.
Telluride jazz guitarist, Tyler Simmons, will provide music at Opening Night.
THE SHOW
“UNBROKEN SPIRIT :: WESTERN COLORADO’S CAPTIVE MUSTANGS” seeks to tell the story of Colorado’s forgotten natives, wild mustangs. Rounded up by the Bureau of Land management, these horses face an uncertain future. Most of them are destined for government holding facilities, or worse. But a lucky few are fortunate enough to land in the hands of trainers determined to gentle these horses without breaking their spirits. Through photographs printed on metal, artist Savannah Conley provides an intimate look at wild horses learning to survive in captivity.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Street parking is available.
We request that anyone who is unvaccinated for COVID please wear a face covering inside the gallery. If you are showing any COVID symptoms or sick in any way please do not attend Opening Night. We are limiting capacity for this event to a maximum of 50 participants at any given time.
This event is FREE and open to the public.
THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Savannah Conley is a Montrose, CO based portrait and landscape photographer. Savannah began her journey with photography under the wings of her high school teacher and mentor, Debra Helmberger, who taught her the ins and outs of portraiture and wedding photography. Her passion for portrait photography expanded into a fascination with photojournalism, leading her to pursue a degree. Her photojournalistic training lends a storytelling aspect to her images. Her exhibition, Unbroken Spirit, combines her childhood love of horses with her passion for storytelling to create an immersive experience into the world of mustangs. www.savannahhphoto.com
