POSTPONED TO APRIL 19, 2026 KICKING OFF NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEKAcross the country, books are being challenged, restricted, and removed, but stories still deserve to be heard. We hope you’ll join us.
Social Art & Culture, alongside partners with Mid-Atlantic Arts, WPFW, We Act Radio, and Cozy Black Girl Book Club, invite you to attend our UNBANNED Event—a community event focused on a screening and conversation on banned books, free expression, and the power of storytelling on April 19, 2026.
The afternoon will begin with a panel discussion moderated by Katea Stitt, WPFW, along with Banned Together filmmakers, National Education Association, and PEN America. The discussion will be followed by a screening of the 3x award-winning documentary film Banned Together. In addition, guests will also be able to purchase books in the lobby from the Bol Coop Bookstore Association and donate them to The Artivism Library Collection, helping build its opening collection. Concessions will be available in the theatre lobby.
