UNB S.P.R.I.N.G. is excited to host Fredericton’s next all-abilities accessible 5k! ✨🧑🏿🦼🏃🏻♀️👩🏽🦽All funds raised will support our non-profit, student-led volunteer program, serving Fredericton families of youth aged 3-15 with varying abilities. This autumn, join us in raising disability awareness and uniting our community.
Everyone is welcome. All ages. All abilities.

Participation is by donation.
Cash and electronic funds transfers (EFTs) are accepted. E-transfer donations can be made directly to our program, using the email: [email protected].
We are proud to partner with the UNBSU, City of Fredericton, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the Fredericton YMCA, and various other community organizations to bring this fundraising event to life.
A special thanks to our student volunteers from the University of New Brunswick and St. Thomas University for their dedication to both our program and this event.
As our program - and this event - are tailored to adults and children of varying interests, preferences, abilities, and activity levels, we want to ensure that our event exceeds a typical 5k run and serves our community at a greater level.
Part of accomplishing this will include having various activity stations, vendors, organizational booths, and entertainment on-site in Carleton Park and the Garrison Historic Site, and along the race route.
We encourage everyone to stop at these stations and enjoy the event to the fullest.
Thank you to each of the Fredericton-local community organizations and businesses for partnering with us to make this event a success.
🏁 Route Details:
Our route is a “loop” design, with a turnaround location for participants. The total length of the route is approximately 5 kilometres, and it is estimated to take 1 hour to complete (without stops).
The start/end point of the route is in Carleton Park, on Fredericton’s Northside. This location allows for free, off-street parking for participants. Accessible parking spaces will be available.
From the start/end point at Carleton Park, participants will proceed south on the North Riverfront Trail toward the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge, then follow the directions below:
- Turn right onto the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge and cross to Fredericton's Southside.
- Turn right off of the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge onto the South Riverfront Trail.
- Stay right at the trail bifurcation at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery to remain on the South Riverfront Trail.
- Proceed along the South Riverfront Trail until the Carleton Street Walking Bridge.
- Cross the Carleton Street Walking Bridge to Carleton Street.
- Proceed along the walkway on Carleton Street to the Garrison Historic Site (District of Soldier’s Barracks).
The turnaround point will be in the Garrison Historic Site, and participants will follow the same route in reverse to end at the starting point in Carleton Park on Fredericton's Northside.
