When Sarah--approaching forty and living in Madrid--receives a letter from her first love, she is pulled back into the emotional landscape of her youth, forcing her to confront unresolved wounds and the life she once imagined. As past and present intertwine, and amid fears about illness and inheritance, Sarah embarks on a journey that ultimately leads her away from nostalgia and toward a radical act of self-definition.

Gina Montaner (La Habana, 1960) es periodista y escritora. Desde hace 40 años publica una columna semanal en diversos periódicos en América Latina y también en El Nuevo Herald. Además, es colaboradora del diario español El Mundo, medio en el que publica regularmente análisis políticos sobre Estados Unidos y América Latina. Durante más de tres décadas, Montaner trabajó en informativos de la televisión, incluyendo CNN+ (Madrid), la cadena Telemundo y Telemundo 51 (Miami), donde se desempeñó como Managing Editor, a cargo de la supervisión del contenido editorial. Tiene en su haber más de ocho Premios Emmy (noticias). Montaner es autora de la novela La mala fama, publicada por Plaza y Janés en 2009. En 2006 Montaner coordinó y prologó Un día sin inmigrantes (Grijalbo), libro que reúne testimonios de artistas y académicos latinos en EE.UU. Se licenció en literatura iberoamericana en Barnard College, Columbia University (Nueva York). Actualmente vive en Madrid.

Gina Montaner is an Emmy-Award winning journalist and author. For the last 40 years, she has published a weekly column in various publications throughout the U.S. and Latin America, including in El Nuevo Herald. She is also a contributor for Spain’s El Mundo, where she offers political analysis on American and Latin American politics on a regular basis. Additionally, Montaner has worked in cable news for over 30 years, including in CNN +, Telemundo National and Telemundo 51. At Telemundo 51, she supervised the network’s editorial content. She has received over eight News Emmys.

Montaner’s debut novel, La mala fama (Plaza y Janés), was published in 2009. In 2006, Montaner produced the book A Day Without Immigrants (Grijalbo), for which she compiled testimonies of Latin American artists and academics living in the U.S., and wrote the prologue. She holds a B.A. in Iberoamerican Literature from Barnard College, Columbia University. Born in Havana, Montaner grew up in Spain and currently resides in Madrid.

Paola Ramos is an author and Emmy-Award winning journalist. Ramos is a contributor for Telemundo News and MSNBC/MS NOW. She is also the co-host of iHeartMedia’s “The Moment with Jorge Ramos and Paola Ramos” Ramos is a former Corresponded for Vice News. Her reporting has taken her along the southern border, the Darien Jungle, to embed with Mexican cartels, the Proud Boys or with underground abortion pill networks. Prior to her career in journalism, Ramos was the former Deputy Director of Hispanic Media for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 Presidential Campaign, a political appointee during the Obama Administration and also served in President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.
She is the author of “DEFECTORS: The Rise of the Latino Far Right and what It Means for America,” and of “Finding Latin-X: In Search of the Voices redefining Latino Identity,” published by Penguin Random House. She is Cuban, Mexican and American and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
