??Come along with us on a musical journey that traverses unknown seas, battling turmoil, love and tragedy in UMMSSO’s grand finale concert of 2024. Prepare to be swept up in the tumultuous and debaucherous life of Jean Sibelius, culminating in his only violin concerto through Sarah Chang (MD4), our very own virtuosic violinist. Once Sibelius has taken your heart, prepare to witness Prokofiev’s portrayal of love and tragedy in his masterful ‘Romeo and Juliet’ suite. From heartthrob to heartbreak, Prokofiev presents raw renditions of loss, violence and adversity that are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. Finally, witness the world premiere of UMMSSO’s talented composer and conductor, Ian Coyukiat's (MD3) 'Visions from Buller'.
