Whether you’ve completed the Scent Instructors Network (SIN) Part 1 and 2 or already have some detection experience, this immersive two-day course marks your official entry into the UK Scent Sport Instructor Pathway.
Created for trainers, behaviourists, and canine professionals, the Foundation Course blends theory with hands-on practice to give you the confidence and skills to begin teaching scent detection in a force-free, ethical, and evidence-led way. You’ll be working with your own dog throughout, learning not only how to train but also how to teach others to succeed.

Core odour theory and how scent really works
Pairing target odour (Kong) through classical conditioning
Free searching and setting up effective training environments
Indication training: shaping, capturing, and rewarding
