International Best Cava Sommelier Competition – UK Edition

In partnership with the UK Sommelier Association Gold Awards

Join us on 21 September at The Clermont Hotel, Charing Cross, London, for the International Best Cava Sommelier Competition – UK Edition, held as part of the prestigious UK Sommelier Association Gold Awards.

The competition will bring together some of the UK's most talented sommeliers to compete in a series of practical challenges, including blind tasting, food and wine pairing, and service, showcasing their expertise and the exceptional quality and versatility of D.O. Cava.

Competition Format

Semi Final
The first session, involves a written test, blind wine tasting, and wine and food pairing. From this round, three semi-finalists will be selected.

Live Final
The finalists will compete in front of an expert jury during the UKSA Gold Awards.

Prizes

Winner: £500

First Runner-up: £250

Second Runner-up: £250

The UKSA Gold Awards will also celebrate excellence across the wine and hospitality industry, recognising outstanding sommeliers, wine buyers, importers, brand ambassadors, restaurateurs, wine journalists, and the UK's best wine lists.

WALKAROUND TASTING

The walkaround tasting will span the entire day and extend into the evening, ensuring that all industry professionals have ample opportunities to participate.

This event provides a unique platform for producers and sponsors to connect with a diverse range of professionals, including sommeliers, importers, wine buyers, and hospitality professionals. It offers an ideal setting for promoting their wine portfolios and fostering valuable 'business-to-business' relationships.

MASTERCLASSES

Throughout the day, we will host educational Masterclass dedicate to Cava. Masterclasses, are designed to cater to industry professionals eager to delve deeper into the intricacies of Cava region. These session offer a unique opportunity for attendees to expand their wine knowledge and gain valuable insights from Cava winemakers and producers.
