About this Event
On the 6th of June an author, poet and teacher of creative writing Maryna Linda is coming to the Ukrainian community of Cambridge to present her children's book "Shunya and the Wheat Grain"
Shunya is a little mouse who lives with his mummy in a cosy burrow on the edge of a huge field. Shunya’s kind heart calls him to good deeds, but what is a good deed? Sometimes his best intentions are a little misguided but, with the help of his mummy and a rather unusual friend, he will discover that making mistakes is part of growing up and how we learn to get better.
This is a story about finding friendship, undying hope and respect for the wisdom of nature.
The book is intended for children of primary school age and for family reading.
The book will be available for purchase with the author's signature in two languages: Ukrainian and English.
Marina Linda is a well-known Ukrainian children’s writer and translator for young children. She writes gentle, educational stories and picture books for early childhood.
Her books are warm, calming, and ideal for preschoolers.
