Join us January 28th 2023 in the Lloyd center for an amazing Ukrainian Cultural Festival and Fundraiser.
The John Daniel Teply Gallery as a part of the Mural by Mail Project, a project devoted to generating cultural exchange through a creative exchange, has curated two Saturdays full of Ukrainian art and heritage. Januray 28th:
1pm - 2pm: Artist Talks: Olesya Hudyma, Mykhailo Skop & Alevtyna Kakydze
2pm-3pm: Guided Virtual Tour of a Cultural Site in Ukraine
3:00pm-5pm: One-act plays & dance interpreting the war poems of award winning poet Halyna Kruk
5pm-6pm: Ukrainian Cooking Show: Potato Latkes w/ local Ukrainian Chief

We have a very exciting crew of playwrights, performers, and dancers, that will interpret Kruk's poems.
⋆Gabrielle Juliette: is a native Oregonian and eclectic artist who has several years of teaching, acting, writing, and performing experience.
⋆Ishani Ishaya: is a well-know bellydancer and fire performer. She has been performing in the Portland community for over 10 years and has performed at many music festival nationwide.
⋆Rachel Rusenko: is a painter, muralist, vocalist, writer, thespian, and community organizer. She will be reading Kruk’s work for some of the performances and is also helping to coordinate the event.
⋆Brittany Stipe: recently wrote and starred in an original one-act play and is an accomplished local Portland actress.
⋆John Carter & Sage Pritchard: are a Portland OR based creative duo that will be wearing many hats - playwright, director, actor, and musician - for their one act interpretation of "A Woman Named Hope."
⋆Valentin Vinokurov: is a pronounced local theater community member and someone who has written and directed original one act plays.
⋆Sweta Ravisankar: is a classically trained dancer who is very active in the local PDX Indian community.
⋆Kyndessence Collective: is a Portland local dance collective who consists of dedicated creatives creatives guided by the elements, presence and intention.
⋆Kristen Pizzo: is an actor and freelance writer from California. She is currently represented by the Bell Agency for work in the Pacific Northwest region. You can see more of her work at www.kristenpizzoactor.com
⋆Dr. Ming Lauren Holden: is an actress and author of Refuge. Dr. Holden most recently finished a refugee advocacy trip to Ukraine, Berlin, and Moldova.
⋆Mary Lloyd: has her BA in dance business, and she currently teaches ballet, tap, and jazz at Encore Performing Arts Center. She previously choreographed with John Teply for the Crow Festival in April 2022.
Miranda Carvalho is a Portland-based writer and theater artist whose work has been seen in festivals along the West Coast and Alaska.
