About this Event
Poetry written by Russophone Ukrainians, by recent and long-term expatriates from Russia (and other former Soviet republics), and by poets still in the Russian Federation has been collected in numerous publications, including anthologies such as Yurii Leving’s "Poeziya poslednego vremeni" and the bilingual volumes "Disbelief, Dislocation, and Rupture, "which are the focus of this event. The translators and editors of these bilingual anthologies have created a repository of poems protesting the war and government persecution in Russia and Belarus, titled Kopilka. From this collection, group members selected poems for translation and inclusion in anthologies, with each volume following different principles of selection and organization. These differences reflect the evolution of both the war and the poetry it has inspired over the years.
