University Taikai 2025Dates: 29th and 30th March 2025
Location: Hosted by Strathclyde University Kendo Club
The University Taikai is a kendo competition open to university students who meet the eligibility criteria. It includes both individual and team events:
Individual Matches:
Kyusha (Beginner): For participants with less than two years of experience and no dan rank.
Dan (Open): For ranked participants.
Matches are organized by gender, as per BKA Guidelines.
Team Matches (Mixed Gender):
Teams consist of 5 members, with up to 2 substitutes allowed.
A maximum of 2 teams per university is permitted.
Teams must have at least three members from the same university, but exceptions allow for mixed teams from the same zone if necessary.
Match Format:
Pool stages will determine the progression to finals. Specific match durations, pool sizes, and advancement criteria depend on court availability
