About this Event

Operated by the UI College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, the lab uses tissue culture and sophisticated protocols to produce virus-free potato plantlets and minitubers. The tiny plantlets and potatoes form the foundation of Idaho’s $5 billion potato industry.

The free program will feature short tours of the new $5.5 million laboratory’s tissue culture area and grow room by lab Interim Director Shannon Kuhl. Idaho Foundation Seed Program Coordinator David Hoadley and CALS Dean Michael Parrella will talk about the college’s role in Idaho agriculture.

Please register for the program here through EventBrite or by emailing [email protected].
