Please join us for a conversation on navigating Inuit youth wellbeing in Nunavut, Canada with speakers Polina Anang, Child and Adolescent psychiatrist, and Anthropologist Hugh Brody.
This talk will take place on the 16th February 2025, in the Levinsky Room, Ground Floor, 30 Guilford Street, UCL at 4-5pm GMT. This is a hybrid event although we encourage in person attendance where possible.

Polina Anang is an Associate Professor with the Department of Psychiatry, Max Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, Canada. In her clinical work she is a certified Child and Adolescent psychiatrist and Service Chief of Consultation-Liaison and Outpatient Mental Health Services at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She has been providing clinical care to Naujaat, Nunavut since 2012. Dr. Anang was a co-founder of Building on Strengths in Naujaat youth group in 2016. She is passionate about Community-Based Participatory Research with the Naujaat youth group as well as with Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad, Indigenous-led youth serving organization in the North End of Winnipeg. Dr. Anang grew up in the former Soviet Union, she completed her medical training in Johannes-Gutenberg University and defended her PhD in Institute for Psychosomatic Medicine in Mainz, Germany.
Hugh Brody is an anthropologist, author and filmmaker. Hugh was educated at Oxford and is an Honorary Associate of the Scott Polar Institute at the University of Cambridge. For ten years his work centred on the Canadian north. His books include Inishkillane, The People’s Land, Living Arctic, Maps and Dreams, Means of Escape, The Other Side of Eden and most recently, Landscapes of Silence. His films include Nineteen Nineteen, Hunters and Bombers, Time Immemorial, The Washing of Tears, Inside Australia, The Meaning of Life and Tracks Across Sand.
