Explore Strawberry Creek with Wholly H2O on a guided University of California, Berkeley campus walk. 🌊
The Strawberry Creek waterhood is the reason that UC Berkeley decided to locate here at the base of Strawberry Canyon in 1868. What changes has the creek gone through, and who drove those changes here in the upper watershed?
Date: Saturday, November 14, 2026
Time: 11 am - 12:30 pm
Location: University of California, Berkeley (meetup spot provided with registration)
During this Walking Waterhoods tour, you’ll learn more about:
* the geology of the area, including the Hayward Fault
* the Huichin Ohlone living in the area
* Manifest Destiny hits this land
* the founding of campus
* early water sources for the campus
* the pollution and subsequent clean-up of the creek
* managing stormwater through green strategies
Together, we’ll trace the creek’s path, notice how water shapes this landscape, and connect what we see to local history and environmental justice.
We offer a variety of ticket options, from early bird to full price. As always, if you need a free ticket, please let us know. We provide one free ticket for former staff, interns, volunteers, and all funders.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
