Uber Design Night - June 14th

We are excited to host the next Design Night in our new office location at Tripolis Park on Wednesday, June 14th.

Join us and fellow designers and creative thinkers for inspiring talks around designing “Beyond the Screen”.

We believe technology should be seamlessly integrated and invisible to enhance our lives.

This perspective is shared by Rob Mariet and Sophie Back, whose expertise spans various domains and industries. They bring a global perspective to their work, often navigating complex environments to deliver incredible experiences that adapt to different landscapes and customer needs.

Rob Mariet is a seasoned product designer with a wealth of experience and currently working at Google on Google Assistant. Originally from the Netherlands, his career journey has taken him across the globe. His talk on “Lessons learned as a pragmatic designer” will share his experience leading design across various domains from emerging markets, driving experiences, autonomous cars, fintech, product development tools, and digital assistants.

Sophie Back is the design manager at Uber for Payments, Risk, and Identity. Her experience spans consulting, agencies, tech, and start-ups, including running her own start up in Australia. She is passionate about creating great teams to make products that customers love.

Together with her team, she crafts experiences for Payments, Risk, and Identity across all of Uber’s apps. Sophie champions creating simple user experiences in an increasingly complex and ever changing global payments landscape.
