[English below]Het Arenbergorkest neemt je mee naar een zomerse Japanse nacht met "Tōrō ~ een Japanse nocturne" 🎐🎶
Op dinsdag 12 mei en woensdag 13 mei dompelen we je onder in de sfeer van Obon, het Japanse lampionnenfestival waar families samenkomen om hun voorouders te herdenken. Door de ogen van Asahi en Mayu, een jongetje en zijn oma, beleef je een warme avond vol lichtjes en muziek.
Verwacht je aan het krachtige taiko-spektakel van Yoronami, het taiko-ensemble waarmee we voor deze concertreeks samenwerken en aan film- en klassieke muziek van uitsluitend Japanse componisten, met onder meer Joe Hisaishi (Howl’s Moving Castle) en Akira Ifukube (Japanese Rhapsody). Van dromerige klanken tot indrukwekkend slagwerk: dit wordt een concertavond om niet te missen.

The Arenberg Orchestra invites you into a warm summer night in Japan with "Tōrō ~ a Japanese Nocturne" 🎐🎶
On Tuesday, May 12 and Wednesday, May 13, we will immerse you in the atmosphere of Obon, the Japanese lantern festival where families gather to honour the souls of their ancestors. Through the eyes of Asahi and Mayu, a young boy and his grandmother, you will experience an evening filled with light and music.
Expect the powerful taiko performance of Yoronami, the taiko ensemble we are collaborating with for this concert series, as well as film music and classical works exclusively by Japanese composers, including Joe Hisaishi (Howl’s Moving Castle) and Akira Ifukube (Japanese Rhapsody). From dreamlike melodies to spectacular percussion, this promises to be an unforgettable concert evening.
