**LTC classes do not teach attendees how to handle or shoot firearms. Attendees are expected to show up already knowing how to use their firearms.*Those who need to learn safety, operation, and shooting skills should inquire for additional training PRIOR TO attending the LTC class.
Retaking the shooting portion will cost $70.
This class provides the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) required classroom training and firearm qualification students need in order to obtain a Texas License to Carry a Handgun (LTC).
Purpose: To train and qualify a student to submit an application to the Texas Handgun Licensing Program. Upon completion, students will have the following materials required to submit their application:
Instructor certification for completed and passes classroom curriculum and passed handgun qualification test (175-250).
Class Prerequisite: Proficiency with a handgun, you need to know how to shoot, load a magazine, load the firearm and handle a malfunction if it occurs.
Must posses and bring a valid, not expired state issued ID or drivers' license.
Mandatory Range Equipment to Qualify: Come range ready with:
Closed toed shoes and no open or low cut tops are recommended for safety from hot brass.
Firearm (minimum .22 cal or greater) available for rent if you do not have your own. Please bring a minimum of two magazines and a speed loader is recommended.
Ammunition (50 rounds), available for purchase (no steel cased or cored ammunition is allowed on the range due to fire risk)
ANSI rated Eye and Ear protection, if wearing prescription glasses, your glasses must be ANSI rated or you will need to wear over glasses protection on the range. If you do not have eyes or ears, they are available for purchase starting at $5.
Snack & Drinks: feel free to bring what you need, we do have a cash based snack machine and sell drinks if needed.
Other: If cold natured, we suggest bringing a jacket as the room is kept near 70 degrees.
