....
A group born out of a sincere friendship while Martynas Šerpytis and Bertram Kvist Lynggaard were studying at the Danish National Conservatory of Music. The aim of this project is to combine different cultural contexts, to experiment and to realise their creative visions through original music. Growing up in two different backgrounds, artists have acquired different taste and understanding of music, pushing this project to be more authentic and unique – they don’t try to agree on one similar sound. The result of that is a mixed, no boundary based music, including genres like Hardbop, Modern Jazz, Avantgarde and Folk. The band has released their first album called “Occurrents”.
The album “Occurrents” was released on May 24th 2024. Two Face Tide recorded it in Denmark with their Danish team. The songs are written separately by both composers, creating two different worlds that describe the artists. The music varies in between modal jazz, free jazz, hardbop, and both Lithuanian and Danish folk music influences. You can find the album on all platforms.
Martynas is a new generation jazz saxophonist and composer, combining Lithuanian folk motifs, contemporary music and jazz. He has already appeared in almost all Lithuanian jazz festivals and toured Europe with such ensembles as Two Face Tide, Nordic Youth Quintet, Humanoid Silhouette and others.
Bertram is a Copenhagen-based saxophonist and composer whose music is a blend of hardbop and Scandinavian tradition. Bertram has been composing music since childhood and has performed it throughout Denmark and Northern Europe.
Bertram is a recording artist who’s actively releasing songs in various genres that reaches millions of listeners.
