Starkid’s beloved musical parody of Aladdin tells the true story of Ja’Far, whose people blame him for everything wrong in The Magic Kingdom. Twisted is a tongue-in-cheek nod to Broadway’s Wicked, “the untold true story of the Witches of Oz,” and it has remained a timely and hilarious critique on media and empires, and asks the question: who tells your story?
