Class Description: Wind up your creativity with wire sculpting! This beginning wire sculpting camp will introduce a variety of techniques and types of metal sculpture. Students will create some smaller works out of wire each day and have the option to create a bigger final project over the last two days of the camp. Wire will be provided and nature walks will occur daily for students to gain inspiration and collect found materials to add to their sculptures.
Teacher: Johannah Hildebradt graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a Bachelors of Fine Art in painting and book binding in 2011 and moved to Steamboat Springs shortly after. During her time in Steamboat, she instructed skiing and taught at the North Routt Preschool. She also volunteered on a handful of Steamboat Springs Arts Council committees and joined the Steamboat Art Museum Board of Directors. She is currently living in Salt Lake City where she is an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher and continues to be involved in art communities in both Salt Lake and Steamboat.
