Join Peter Brastow for an invigorating hike up to Twin Peaks, starting and ending at our native plant nursery at the McAteer Community Farm.
About this Event

This walk will begin at Nature in the City’s native plant nursery at the McAteer Campus Community Farm. Walk participants are welcome to come early to pitch in at the farm or nursery workday, or get treated to a spread of delicious food and wood-fired pizza (see more details in Agenda section).

Details: Peter will lead participants from the farm up to the top of Twin Peaks, stopping to admire wildflowers and amazing views along the way. Peter will describe the ecological history of the area and paint a picture of a biodiverse future.

This walk will be approx 3 miles round trip, with an elevation gain of 350 feet. The route will be a combination of dirt trail, sidewalks, and stairs.

Peter Brastow is the Senior Biodiversity Coordinator at the SF Environment Department. Peter founded Nature in the City in 2005, after having worked for the National Park Service on the Presidio for the previous decade.
