Based in Burlington, The Discussions are an original instrumental ensemble that balance highly arranged compositions with psychedelic and ambient sounds. Led by composer Greg Rothwell, their sound incorporates a cinematic approach, using techniques of minimalism and stylings of jazz, rock, and groove to create a layered, rhythmic sound. The Discussions treat their music like movie scores, invoking imagery and building from beginning to end, as if following the arc of a story line. 2024 City Hall Park programming is underwritten by the Pomerleau Family Foundation and @The WaterWheel Foundation.
