KICK OFF YOUR WEEKEND WITH DANCE, SWEAT AND ENERGY 🔥TWERK UNTAMED is a dance class that invites you to express your wildness, humour and sensuality by moving your pelvic area. Join this Friday evening when we gather 50 people in Rört’s brand new studios on Thoravej. The class celebrates the freedom, fun and connections that happens, when we gather and shake our bodies together.
NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE is needed - curiosity is all you need. And TWERKING is for you no matter your age, gender or the size of your butt. You’ll be taught techniques that are simple, easy and just meant to support your unique expression.
The class starts with a guided arrival, connecting you to your senses and grounding. We then dive into the techniques of shaking butt, circling hips and shooting pelvis backward and forward with power and energy. From here, we add hand gestures and steps to engage our full-body expression.
The dance style is inspired from Jamaican Dancehall, and you can expect roots music, Brazilian grooves and Jamaican beats. We end with an open dance floor where you'll be guided to alternate between dancing free and playing with the steps.
TWERK UNTAMED is a non-sexual space and you can safely explore shaking your butt without it being interpreted as an invitation to something unwanted.
Alcohol or drugs are not allowed nor needed 💗
WHAT TO BRING:
Leave your tight Yoga pants at home and bring clothes that sit loose on your body, so you have the freedom to move, sweat and shake!
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Amalie Marcuslund Overbye is a professional dancer and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. She practices a wide range of dance styles varying from contemporary floorwork to Jamaican Dancehall. With a special focus and warm heart for somatics and the felt experience, she welcomes all curious souls to taste a liberating and UNTAMED version of Twerking.
