About this Event
If you're looking to be part of a nourishing community, feel safe in your body, express yourself freely, and experience more joy through dance, Twerk is for you.
This isn't about getting it right. It's about finding freedom through movement.
As a Holistic Physiotherapist and Somatic Coach, I see twerk as a powerful practice for both physical and emotional wellbeing. Physically, it can support your posture by releasing tension and strengthening your hips, pelvis, and spine. Emotionally, it offers an opportunity to cultivate safety in the body, reconnect with pleasure, and experience the joy of self-expression.
You don't need any dance experience - just some loose trousers or shorts so you can get a good jiggle in.
Each class begins with a gentle warm-up inspired by yoga and Animal Flow to mobilise the hips and spine, and activate the whole body. We then explore a variety of twerk techniques - because there are so many ways to twerk - before bringing it all together through playful movement to Afrobeats and Dancehall.
Come as you are. Leave feeling more connected to yourself and commumity and confident in your body.
