Mic Harrison grew up in Bradford, Tenn., writing songs about life and history instead of typical teenage fare—rooted in childhood memories of family picnics at Shiloh, a place he'd later learn was the site of a bloody Civil War battle. That irony anchors his new album "Peach Blossom Youth," whose closing track "Picnic at Shiloh" reflects his dual identity as singer-songwriter and amateur historian.
Harrison moved to Knoxville in the 1990s, joining The V-Roys and later Superdrag before going solo with "Pallbearer's Shoes." For 20 years he's recorded and toured with his band The High Score, playing festivals like Bonnaroo and Rhythm N' Blooms. Producer Eric "Roscoe" Ambel, known for his work with The Bottle Rockets and his own band the Del-Lords, helmed the new record.
Matt Woods is a product of Appalachia. His East Tennessee roots run through his songs, the filter through which he distills the world—external and internal—into writing that's honest and heartfelt, whether you call it Americana, folk rock, or country. He spends mostof his time on the road, solo or with his band Matt Woods and the Natural Disasters, touring the US and making annual runs through Europe since the release of 2016's "How To Survive." His song "My Southern Heart" was prominently featured in the 2022 film Crawlspace, starring Henry Thomas.
Woods released his fourth full-length album, "Natural Disasters," in 2019, followed by the "Mornings After" EP—both produced by Joey Kneiser (Glossary, Austin Lucas). He's now releasing a series of digital singles, the most recent being "Let Love Ring," a collaboration with Justin Wells, SHEPHERD, and Adam Lee. Along the way, he's shared stages with Tyler Childers, Chris Knight, Frank Turner, Will Hoge, CAKE, Robbie Fulks, The White Buffalo, and The Black Lillies, among others.
Carissa Johnson is a Boston-born punk and alt-rock musician known for her live show and for anthems of resilience, heartbreak, and self-discovery. She's spent a decade touring the U.S. solo and with her trio The Cure Alls (Steph Curran and Nick Hall), winning Boston's Rock & Roll Rumble in 2017 and opening for Winona Fighter, Dorothy, Tōth (ofRubblebucket), TORRES, and others.
Now splitting time between Boston and New York, Carissa is entering a new era through upcoming releases and visual work, her music finding an audience among outsiders, empaths, and anyone in the middle of reinventing themselves. She joined Boston punk pioneers The Nervous Eaters on bass in 2024 and performs with grunge supergroup SWIVEL, all while working in the studio on her sixth full-length album, due out in 2026.
