FRED SHIPPEY: REGIONAL MANAGER – YORKSHIRE & NORTH EAST SUPER REGION
Blackpool Thunder Car Club is delighted to announce Fred Shippey as the Regional Manager for our new Yorkshire & North East Super Region.
Fred, who will be well known to many of you, has been a TVR enthusiast for many years and having previously owned a 350i and an S1, is now the proud owner of a 1999 Halcyon Atlantis Pearl Chimaera.
Fred will be hosting a number of Yorkshire & North East Region events throughout the year, and as a taste of thing to come, is pleased to announce the inaugural Blackpool Thunder “Tour of the Moors”, to be held over the weekend of Friday 6th – Sunday 8th September.
TVR TOUR OF THE MOORS 2024
The Tour of the Moors will be based at the White Horse Farm Inn, Rosedale Abbey, Pickering, North Yorkshire YO18 8SE, with a double room including breakfast costing just £210 for the two nights. The event itinerary is as follows:
Friday 6th September – Bangers and Cash
For those of you who haven’t enjoyed the full Bangers and Cash experience, we will be meeting up at Mathewsons Classic Vehicle Auction House from 1pm, where you can explore the impressive halls of classic cars, classic motorcycles and automotive memorabilia, before heading off to the White Horse Farm Inn. Friday evening we have nothing formal planned, so kick back, grab yourself some quality pub grub, and acquaint yourself with TVR friends old and new.
Saturday 7th September – Tour of the Moors
Saturday is the full-on Tour of the Moors, which will take in Whitby, Staithes, Castleton, and some of the best driving roads in Yorkshire, including several of Fred’s favourites, plus a stunning seaside lunchtime stop. The tour will finish up late afternoon back at the White Horse Farm Inn where you can again kick back and grab yourself a bite to eat at your leisure. The rest of the evening is free, although there is a rumour of an alternative TVR quiz with some rather special TVR prizes at stake!
Sunday 8th September – Eden Camp All Services Parade Day
For those of you not heading straight off, on Sunday morning we will be visiting the famous Eden Camp Modern History Museum in Malton which occupies a former Second World War prisoner-of-war camp. Sunday 8th September will see the Eden Camp’s All Services Parade and Service of Remembrance, so it is the perfect day to visit this unique site of British WWII history. Our discounted group ticket price for our Eden Camp visit is just £14.00 per person.
So, we look forward to seeing you at the inaugural Blackpool Thunder “Tour of the Moors”. Places are limited, so make sure to book early. It’s going to be a superb weekend! Book Your Room at www.blackpoolthunder.com/thunder-events/
