What the workshop will cover:
Gain a greater understanding of constructing & writing a TV drama in this hands-on workshop.
Learn how to write scenes, structure, scene hooks, episode hooks for long-running series (and soaps). Explore how popular TV dramas demonstrate motivations, needs, goals, obstacles etc.
Who you'll be working with:
This workshop will be lead by Marc Pye, who has written for EastEnders, Holby City, Hollyoaks, The Bill, Waterloo Road, River City, and the award-winning team of Jimmy McGovern’s The Street (BAFTA, International Emmy, RTS).
He is the author of four novels, Lollipop and Rewire (Sceptre), Babushka and Spring Heeled Jack (Amazon). His three short films - Baldy McBain, Last Legs and Instant Credit all premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. His first feature film, Act of Grace, starring Leo Gregory, David Yip and Jennifer Lim was released May 2012, and his second feature, The Daniel Connection, has been distributed by California Pictures including Paramount Pictures Studios.
His third feature, Dressers, is in development with Junkyard Dog Films Ltd and Moquette Films Ltd. He has a number of original drama series in development.
