TAM VANTAGE PLAYING 'LAUGHING GAS & APPLE PIE' WITH FULL BAND: https://tamvantage.bandcamp.com/album/laughing-gas-apple-pie'Laughing Gas & Apple Pie' is the 3rd studio LP from Tam Vantage. It is a more attacking, energetic and aggressive record than the jangle/shoegaze of 2017's 'Show Me To The Sun' or his 2015 debut album 'Life In High Definition'.
All instruments were played by Tam over the course of 2019-2020. Jesse Williams (Girlatones, Leah Senior) helped record some of the initial tracks, and then the majority was self produced by Tam at home. Mastering was done by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Total Control).
'Laughing Gas & Apple Pie' is the culmination of all Tam's previous work. His 10+ years of playing in bands such as Pop Singles, The Stevens, Girlatones, Leah Senior, Permits, Carpet Burn, and Chook Race, among others, has become ingrained in his overall musicality, and the influence of each can be heard. His latest musical aesthetic draws heavily upon 90's noise-rock/grunge/alternative bands, but never loses its melodic counterpart or elaborate instrumentation. His influences of 60's psychedelia, 70's singer-songwriters, and 80's post-punk and lo-fi can all still be heard.

Listening to The Sprouts is like slow dancing in the kitchen with your best friend. And your best friend is a cat. This is homegrown music from the sill above the sink.
Like sweet nasturtiums growing on the wrong side of the tracks, it’s spritely and s/punky. Loaded on life, and the ethereal tin of single-coil mambo. It’s ok to be an idiot now and then!
Made by those who sing softly, songs of joy lined with linoleum and olive oil. A disc that begs the big questions, like, when was the last time you sang with your Mum? And, when was the last time you danced with your cat?

Many years ago now, Dan Cross made an album with Michael Zulicki called ‘Shopping’, released on Albert’s Basement.
Glass Halo Music now presents Dan Cross Band ‘Best Home Variety’.
Besides featuring the return of Michael Zulicki on keyboards, it features Natalie K (Secret Valley, Elli & Bev) on vocals and occasional cello by Lewis O’Leary who also recorded the album.
More hi-fi than its predecessor, ‘Best Home Variety’ still features Dan Cross’ knack for melody and droll lyrics. Dan & Nat’s vocals combined are a double-headed beast, as much as they were in their other act Secret Valley.
