In sacred community we will join our hearts in breath, song, whirling, dance, poetry and prayer. This offering is open to all who are called to move in prayer, and those who seek to learn more about embracing dance and the movement of whirling to connect with the universe and our deepest self. This workshop will include group prayer, breathwork, movement rituals, Sufi whirling practices, sacred circle dances, singing and chanting, with the intention that these experiences will help us to expand our hearts capacity and enter the place of unity with all creation. Live accompanists Rachel Valfer (vocals & oud) & Khatchadour Khatchadourian (Armenian duduk, vocals) will accompany and also lead the circle in devotional songs and chants.
Come in comfortable clothing (with socks), a big wide open heart, and any prayer or intention to share!
This class will take place in-person at the Alembic, and will also be livestreamed for remote and international students.
