About this Event
Turning Back from Self-Abandonment is a full day in-person training for clinicians based on Turning Back to Ourselves: A Women’s Guide to Healing Self-Abandonment and Loving Who We Are, a book published in February 2024 by Dalya Tamir LCSW.
The training addresses the pain of self-abandonment and ways to turn back to abiding in our wise and compassionate self. The mind state of self-abandonment is characterized by self-judgment, self-doubt, and even self-hatred and comes into being when individuals forget they are worthy of love, when they lose trust in themselves, and feel distant from a sense of belonging.
Based on ten years of working as a clinical social worker and twenty years of facilitating meditation circles, Dalya Tamir will offer an exploration self-abandonment and its causes, and practical tools that can be applied with clients in order for them turn back to themselves and once again remember their innate goodness.
Even though Turning Back to Ourselves was written for women, the tools offered in this workshop are applicable to clients of all genders.
The workshop will be both didactic and experiential and will include talks, group discussion, and a variety of guided meditations and exercises.
7 CEU credits are available for LMSWs, LCSWs, LMFTs, LMHCs and Psychologists who are licensed in New York State.
