TurnAround's 17th Annual Purple Poetry Book Release Party
About this Event
17th Annual Purple Poetry Book
Join TurnAround, Inc. as we celebrate the release of our 17th Annual Purple Poetry Book, a collection of original poetry and artwork created by survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
The Purple Poetry Book provides a powerful platform for survivors to share their stories, honor their journeys, and celebrate their resilience through creative expression.
This year's release party will be an evening of community, healing, and celebration. Guests will enjoy:
- Live readings from featured contributors
- Music and entertainment
- Dancing and community connection
- Complimentary refreshments, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages
- Opportunities to support survivor-centered programming
Attendees are encouraged to wear creative attire featuring any shade of purple. Purple symbolizes courage, peace, survival, and honor, and serves as a tribute to survivors everywhere.
Held during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Purple Poetry Book Release Party recognizes the ongoing work needed to prevent and end power-based violence while uplifting the voices of survivors throughout our community.
All proceeds from Purple Poetry Book sales directly support TurnAround, Inc., Baltimore City, Baltimore County’s designated rape crisis center, as well as Howard County’s Human Trafficking Resource Center.
