Turn up the Heat! Bringing Warmth to the Mott Haven Community

This benefit concert is being held to raise funds for the replacement of the boiler in our Parish House so that we and our partner organizations can continue operations in this cold winter and for many winters to come. 

Our Parish House is currently being re-purposed to serve the community through our collaborative relationships with “Going Deeper”,  “CRU” - formerly Campus Crusade for Christ and our NextGen Ministry. Our Parish House has a rich history having served as the residence for former pastors, a safe place for Mott Haven youth to socialize and also as a music education hub through a piano room that housed 5 pianos where children of the community were taught piano lessons free of charge. Our purpose is to bring new life back to the Parish House in two ways - by sustaining and supporting the work of our partner organizations in the community and also through expanding our own work as Mott Haven Church. 

This will be an exciting afternoon with music, singing, live painting, dance, spoken word and much more. 

Mott Haven Reformed Church has been a part of the Mott Haven community in the South Bronx since its founding 150 years ago, and since then has teamed up with countless community organizations to authentically be a haven for residents of the community. Children’s Haven and the Mott Haven Initiative for Children of Incarcerated Parents (MHICIP) work to bring healing and hope to children of incarcerated parents, as well as increase community awareness and engagement. Mott Haven also provides space to multiple other organizations, including HAUS, a performing arts and after-school tutoring program for children in the Bronx, CRU, an international non-profit with multiple arms including community engagement and youth development, and various other non-profits and community organizations.
