WENDY KING - Certified TURN UP (HIIT) Instructor. TURN UP is a dance HIIT (high intensity interval training using Hip-Hop as the platform for movement). This is a class where you can be unapologetically you by removing age, body type, and gender stereotypes to allow us to move together!Turn Up isn’t JUST a workout program. It’s a rapid growing movement where we PUSH LIMITS and BARRIERS that we have set for ourselves, we come together and empower one another to be multifaceted, to make ourselves a priority, to stop playing small and to live the lives we desire. We simply use fitness to move us forward.
Meraki is thrilled to offer this new class and so honored to have Wendy join us in creating an inclusive space for Adults of all ages, sizes, and gender in movement!!!
Price is $40 per month, or $12 Drop in (per class).
"My name is Wendy King, and I am a certified instructor in TURN UP dance HIIT and WERQ dance fitness. Originally from South Carolina, I have spent the last two decades living in East Tennessee. My journey in dance began at the age of four, when I enrolled in classes. I trained in tap, ballet, and jazz at the Sylvia Davis and Lisa Huckabee School of Dance in South Carolina. At the age of twenty-four, I became a mother and shifted my focus towards raising my son and building my career in Nursing. Nonetheless, my love for dance remained a constant in my life, ultimately guiding me back through dance fitness.
As a certified TURN UP instructor, my goal is to prioritize the individuals in my class over myself. I strive to cultivate a family-like atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and accepted for who they are. I encourage participants to let go of their insecurities, step out of their comfort zones, and truly express themselves.
So, let’s TURN UP, live boldly, and dance without reservation!
