Using the outrigger on a lathe allows you to turn projects much larger than the traditional swing - a 10-12" platter.
About this Event

Turning a large platter either requires a much larger lathe with a tall swing over the bed or a lathe which can rotate and the headstock OR as is with the Laguna Revo 12|16 Midi Lathe, we can mount the bed extension to the back of the lathe body, add the chuck and turn off the back of the lathe with as much as a 16" swing.

In this class, we will go over mounting practices, how best to turn using the swing banjo extension for tool rest when using a set up like this, and then turn a large platter for you to take home to apply your finish.

This class requires some experience turning bowls.
