ABOUT THE SPEAKER
James M. Mash, PhD
Behavioral Health Faculty
Dr. Mash received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in Child and Adolescent Psychology from Pennsylvania State University. In addition, he completed his training in psychopharmacology from New Mexico State University and has 15 years’ experience working as a Prescribing Psychologist.
Dr. Mash’s career has focused on providing mental health care to underserved populations in rural Northern New Mexico with an emphasis on addressing complex mental health issues across the life span. He has a particular interest in providing mental health care in areas where such need is the most acute, e.g. emergency rooms, Detention Centers, Drug/Alcohol Treatment Centers as well as in rural community health centers. Dr. Mash was the Clinical Director and lead Clinician at Tri-County Community Services before joining El Centro Family Health (ECFH). His work at ECFH has involved providing psychotropic Medic*tion management to the diverse clinical population and providing trainings and consultation to the medical providers from the 27 clinics within El Centro and other numerous family physicians in Northern New Mexico.
His favorite nonwork activities center around spending time with his family and enjoying nature, running mountain trails, splashing in the Rio Grande and exploring what’s around the next bend.
